◆Prescription details
Tri-Cyclen Tablets 28 28 tablets
1 tablet, once a day

◆ Drug functions, precautions, interactions, side effects, etc.
It is a type of low-dose pill (oral contraceptive). By continuing to take it, you can expect contraceptive effects and relief from menstrual pain. Although it is effective in preventing pregnancy, it does not prevent HIV infection or sexually transmitted diseases, so we recommend using condoms.
This is a second-generation oral contraceptive prescribed by gynecologists and obstetricians, and contains the progesterone hormone levonorgestrel. The second-generation pill is less likely to cause irregular bleeding.
It is also known as the "triphasic pill," which means you take three pills with different hormone levels over the course of your treatment.
Tri-Cyclen is available in 21-tablet and 28-tablet varieties, both of which contain the same ingredients.

Precautions when taking this medicine
The main side effects include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, breast tenderness, headache, swelling, weight gain, diarrhea, dizziness, irritability, back pain, fatigue, and depression.
* Smoking and oral contraceptives
It has been reported that the combined use of smoking and oral contraceptives increases the risk of side effects such as venous thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, myocardial infarction, and stroke. This risk is said to increase especially in people over 35 who smoke 15 or more cigarettes a day. Therefore, if you are over 35 and want to take oral contraceptives, you should quit smoking.

◆Dosage and Administration
"Tri-Cyclen 28" is a method in which 28 tablets are taken at the same time every day in one sheet. There is no break, and a placebo (fake drug) is taken for the last 7 days of the cycle. This reduces the risk of forgetting to take the pill compared to the 21-tablet method. Once you have finished taking one sheet, you start taking the second sheet for the next cycle, even if you are still bleeding.
If you want to adjust your menstrual cycle, you can do so by changing the timing of when you take the placebo or stop taking the pill. Discuss this with your doctor.
If you miss a pill within 24 hours, take the pill early as soon as you remember (except during the placebo period) and take the pill for the day as usual. If you miss a pill for two or more consecutive days, stop taking it and start again with a new sheet on the first day of your next period. However, since the contraceptive effect is reduced during the interruption period, you will need to use another contraceptive method in addition.
